Well, the Vermont International Festival is over. It's almost a let down after life having revolved around it from morning to night for three days. I lazed around the house yesterday worn out from the three stimulating days at the festival during which we were bombarded by color, sound, smell and good conversation. We chatted with many nice people and heard the interesting stories of their lives and learned many new things. One woman's parents had an even harder time than Toshi and I had when we got married. Her mother was Japanese and father American. Both sets of parents were totally against their marriage. As opposed as Toshi's parents were to our marriage, at least my American family loved Toshi and had no objections. Of course, the times were very different. We aren't from the same generation. The woman's mother is now 83 years old and the father was stationed in Japan when they met and married. No matter how hard you think things are, there is always someone out there who has it harder.
Gotta go. Our son is calling on Skype. Have a great day and be careful on those icy roads. Susan
