Oh boy, what a lot of fun computers are! I managed to type in the "title" of this post, but then I couldn't remember what to do to be able to type the body of the post. Click here, click there, here a click, there a click, everywhere a click click. I was ready to smack the darn machine. Not much patience to spare at the moment. It's after noon and I haven't even had breakfast! Then I remembered that I had to go over to the left and drag the little box that says "text" into this white area and begin typing. I feel like I've already done a day's work. That, of course, is not the only thing I did today. I spent time on Skype with Ricky discussing the best way to share some audio recordings of my mother appearing on a TV show from November 11, 1960, during my local book talk tomorrow and the one in NYC next Sunday. In the middle of that discussion, I received a phone call from a cousin of my mother's, to whom I'd sent the notice of the NY talk in hopes that she'd be able to attend. As an adult, I believe we've only met once. We spent about two hours on the phone catching up on a lifetime or two or more. I read excerpts from the book to her and shared my travails on the road to completion. As Cousin Ellie said, "Why do you think I called? Now I've attended the book talk." Since I don't have Ricky here to keep me from addressing you all as though you were aliens, I won't strive for a nice ending sentence. I'll just say, "Have a great day!" If you're in the northeast, enjoy the changing colors.
