Hi, everyone out there. Welcome to my first blog, first website and first published book. This blog has been a long time in coming. For those of you who've been patiently waiting for it to magically appear, sorry for the delay. Today I just held my breath and jumped in. I can't wait to hear from you! If any of you live somewhere in the vicinity of Burlington, Vermont, I'll be giving a book talk there this Sunday afternoon, October 6th. If you're free, I'd love to meet you in person. Here's the slightly fuzzy book flyer with all the information. Don't know why it got fuzzy when the file was changed to jpeg photo format. Sorry about that. It's not your eyesight going.: I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to sign off, and my son, Ricky—who's patiently waiting for me to release him from Skype—yawns and says, "You don't really need me anymore, do you?" I say, "One more minute; then you can go." So, I run my idea for a last sentence by him—"If you're all out there, let me hear from you." Ricky says to me, "Who do you think you're talking to? Aliens?" On that note I say, "Sayonara" until next time.

Encounter With Japan, An Adventure In Love, is a very moving and lovingly written book by Susan Saitoh, the daughter of the late Dr. Adelaide E. Katz, Ph.D. Addie was one of the most brilliant and well-read people I have ever had the good fortune to meet. I was very lucky to have become the life partner of Addie's late son, Jonathan, so we were family and very close. When you read this book you will very quickly get to know who Addie was, how passionate she was and how important people (all different kinds of people) were to her. Her encounter with japan changed her life and was the turning point and the bases of many things that she accomplished later in life. Come and meet this wonderful and fascinating person through her own writings, photos and through the wonderful poem pages at the back. You won't be unhappy that you did.
