Sorry it's been a while. Aside from having some health problems to deal with, my excuse has been our income taxes. Becoming a sole proprietor - because I happened to write and publish a book - made it too complicated for me to handle our tax return last year. I was forced to hire an accountant to do it for me. This year I couldn't do that, so Toshi helped me figure out where the accountant got his figures from last year. Then we copied what he did substituting this year's figures. Normally, Toshi doesn't help me with the taxes. But if he hadn't this time, I couldn't have done it. Yippee! They're all done! Hopefully, they're correct. No reason to worry about that. For sure, the IRS will let me know if they're not.
Now, all my time and energy must be devoted to finishing up preparation for my talk and slide show for the 20th. As I've written before, this talk will not be about the book. It'll be about my life in Japan as the foreign wife of a Japanese. I've asked some people planning to attend what they want to know about. They've said, "your life in Japan." I'm keeping that in mind as I plan and choose images to show. Aside from slides of the toilets, bathtubs and kitchen hot water heaters which I had to get used to, I will try to provide perhaps a montage of lovely images of Japan.
Well, I need to get moving. I hope those of you in the area will be able to attend on the 20th. Let's all wish for spring's quick arrival. I think most areas of the country have had their fill of winter for the year. I certainly have!
